Compassionate therapy for children, teens, and families
As a highly qualified and compassionate licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT 153364), I am committed to providing exceptional care to children and their families. With a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in marriage and family counseling from Pepperdine University, and an undergraduate degree from Boston University, I have extensive knowledge and experience in counseling and working with children.
My passion for working with children is the driving force behind my therapeutic approach, which is deeply rooted in a neurobiological perspective. Through my understanding of the critical connection between the brain, awareness of the body, and emotions, I am able to provide effective and tailored therapy for my clients.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I am also trained in art and play therapy, which provide valuable tools to engage children and help them express their emotions in a safe and nurturing environment. This creative approach allows me to establish strong connections with my young clients, fostering a sense of comfort and support as they navigate the complexities of their emotions and experiences.
As a lifelong learner, I am committed to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of mental health and continuously seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. With my unwavering commitment to helping others and a deep understanding of children, I am able to make a positive impact on the lives of those I work with.
My experience includes supporting children and families navigating:
As a child and adolescent therapist, I provide a warm, supportive, and engaging environment where young clients can explore their thoughts and emotions while developing healthy coping skills. My approach is tailored to each child's developmental stage, personality, and unique challenges.
Young children process their world through play, creativity, and storytelling. Using play therapy techniques, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and mindfulness-based interventions, I help children:
Adolescence is a time of self-discovery, growth, and, often, emotional challenges. I offer a supportive space where teens can express themselves freely while gaining tools to navigate life's complexities.
Parenting comes with unique challenges, and I offer guidance to help parents better understand and support their child's emotional and behavioral needs.
